TwoCents values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled when you use the TwoCents mobile application.
Money stuff is personal. Before we get into how it works, here is the short version. Your amounts, titles and notes get locked on your phone before they ever leave it, and only you hold the key that opens them back up.
Think of it like a little safe you carry in your pocket. When you set your PIN, your phone quietly turns it into a private key, the same way a key gets cut for a lock. That key never travels anywhere. It stays right there on your device.
Only you know it, and we never store it anywhere.
That PIN gets turned into your own private key, right there on your device.
Your amounts, titles, and notes get locked on-device before they go anywhere.
That's all that ever reaches our servers.
Next time you open the app, only on your device.
Because of this, the actual humans who build this app cannot open your locked amounts, titles or notes and read them, even if we wanted to. What we do keep unlocked are small helper details, like whether something was money in or out, the date, and which category it belongs to. We need those bits in the clear so your charts and lists can sort themselves out quickly. Anything that could tell someone how much you spent or on what stays locked.
That is the whole story. No tricks, just a lock only you hold the key to.
We collect the following data to provide core app functionality: account information such as email address and name when you sign in using Google; financial data entered by you, including expenses, income, amounts, dates, and notes; and app usage data required for authentication, syncing, and basic app operations.
All sensitive financial data entered in the app is protected using a security mechanism configured by the user at app launch. This protection is applied before the data is stored or synced.
The app is designed so that financial data remains private to you. Sensitive data is encrypted on your device before it is stored or synced; we cannot read it. Developers do not have access to view individual users' financial records in readable form.
We do not collect contacts, messages, call logs, or location data.
Your data is used to: authenticate your account; store and sync your financial records across devices; display and manage your personal expense data; and maintain app security and stability. Your data is used only to provide app features.
All data is transmitted using encrypted connections. We use Firebase services provided by Google, including Firebase Authentication and Firebase Firestore. These services follow industry-standard security practices.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Your data is shared only with service providers required to operate the app, such as Firebase, and only for app functionality.
You can delete your data or your account at any time from within the app. See our Delete Account and Delete Data pages for step-by-step instructions. Once deleted, your personal and financial data is permanently removed from our systems.
TwoCents is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
